Antoinette and Jeff

Some of these travelogue titles are getting out of control, but who am I to censor trail talk? This was Antoinette's summary of how to do the 6-mile grind from the Elden-Schultz Y to the saddle at Upper Oldham and Sunset...find a suitable rider ahead of you and just chug along.

Here's Antoinette, about halfway up the Elden Lookout Road at around 8100'. Everyony complains about this road, but it's really not all that bad. Ride it enough times, and you can subdivide it mentally into segments defined by significant curves or switchbacks, and then you just tick them off one by one.

Antoinette got a picture of me on the Sunset Trail's famous "organ donor" segment, about a half mile south of the trail's intersection with the Lookout Road.

Views are a singular part of this ride. It's inspirational riding at nearly 9000' with over 60 miles of vista to the east.
