External view of the dewar:
The dewar accommodates all the optics and both detectors. There
are two filter wheels to quickly switch between the broad band
filters and low res and high res grisms
RIMAS instrument is cooled
with cryomechanical Sumitomo
Guifford-McMahon cryocooler, which will allow
uninterrupted instrument operation for extended period of time.
Our previous experience with Sumitomo cryocoolers demonstrated a
reliable operation with low vibration level.
