RIMAS front module
Front
module of the dewar contains the slit and specialty filter wheel.
Each wheel has 8 positions to accommodate the reflective slits, a
mirror to feed back the beam from the Fibre Bragg OH suppressing
unit. The specialty filter wheel is populated with filters of
interest for specific science projects. The front module unit is
cooled to intermediate temperature of ~200K to reduce the thermal
background radiation to negligible level at H and K bands.
A slit viewer detector is placed underneath of the optical
collimator assembly. An InSb 256x256 detector (Spitzer IRCAM legacy)
will be used to provide a 80" x 80" FOV from the reflective slit:
