I have been fortunate to have unique job experience at the Lowell Observatory.
I have developed in an environment requiring a broad range of valuable skills and knowledge. I am able to adapt very easily to new unfamiliar tasks with efficiency and a broad background.

Programs and programming languages:
- MS Word - I have used MS Word sense 1991 to write scientific lab reports, personal letters as well as a web site development tool.
- Excel - I have used MS Excel extensively as a scientific tool, teaching tool, personal finance and record keeping tool and as a data base.
- Mathematica - I used Mathematica primarily during my education as a physics major to model physics problems as well as a research tool during my involvement with a NASA grant investigating X-ray background at Earlham College. I have also used Mathematica as a teaching tool as a private math teacher.
- MathCad - I have used MathCad regularly as an engineering student to solve problems as well as to create project and lab reports.
- AutoCad - I have used AutoCad R12 regularly as an engineering student to design parts as well as to create project and lab reports.
- PhotoShop - I have primarily used PhotoShop as a web development tool at Earlham College and at the Lowell Observatory.
- MS PowerPoint - I used MS PowerPoint to create professional looking presentations as an engineering student.
- MS Project - I have used MS Project to create work schedules during group activities as an engineering student.
- C - Have taken several classes in the use of the C programming language and have use C as a problem solving tool.
- C++ - Completed a course in C++ in which I was to create several database managing programs.
- Pascal - Completed a course in Pascal in which I created several useful programs to solve a variety of simple to moderately complicated problems.
- Perl - I have use the Perl programming language to create CGI scripts at the Lowell Observatory as well as at Earlham College.
- HTML - I am very familiar with HTML mark up language through web page development at
Backbone Enterprises and at Earlham College as well as Braeside Observatory and
others.
I am currently the webmaster at Lowell Observatory.
I have installed network software, assisted end-users as well familiar with trouble shooting computer setup problems and integrated devices.
Mechanics:
Shop
- Lathe - I can safely operate a manual wood/metal lathe.
- Mill - I can safely operate a manual metal.
- Peripheral metal working devices - I am very familiar with the proper use of most wood working and metal working tools found in a professional level shop. Much of my shop experience has been at the Lowell Observatory shop facilities as a technical assistant and carpenter. I am also an avid woodworking hobbyists and make a little money on the side selling various wood items
Engines
- Handy with engines of all kinds - I enjoy working with engines of all sizes from small lawn mower engines to truck engines. Much of my experience comes from maintenance of snow blowers, small tractors, generators, go-carts and my 1977 Volkswagen Van.
