On the hour from 10 AM to 4 PM. Take the MARS TOUR at 10, 1, and 3
and explore Percival Lowell's Alvan Clark refractor and our historic Rotunda Library.
Join the PLUTO TOUR at 11, 2, and 4 and see the Pluto Discovery Telescope as well as research facilities old and new.
On every Friday through Monday during the summer (June through August), we'll add a Mars Tour at 5:00 and Pluto Tour at 6:00.
Every day from 12:15 to 12:50 PM view the Sun through a specially equipped solar telescope.
We'll open up the telescopes (weather permitting) and view planets, the Moon, star clusters, and more, all with the assistance of our knowledgeable educators.
Each evening as the weather permits, we target 1 or 2 "primary" celestial objects to view through either the 24-inch Clark or 16-inch McAllister Telescopes. We try to pick the most visually interesting objects that are currently in the sky and at a good location for the telescopes to see.
In addition to these primary objects, we also view the moon when it is in a good position in the sky (usually between about 1st quarter and full phases). Finally, we also set up smaller portable telescopes to view other celestial obejcts.
Below is our schedule of primary objects to view through the 24-inch Clark or 16-inch McAllister Telescopes (note these ar subject to change based on weather an other conditions):
